Old New England Factory
This submission includes an old New England factory and village with the old mill houses.
"Model Builder let me design, print, and build all the buildings in the pic. This was my first try at it. I printed the walls on regular printer paper and glued them to 3/16 foam board from the dollar store. I used triangular balsa at the corners to keep them square, then sprayed the finished building with rustoleum clear matte. Total time to build the mill was about 12 hours; the apartment buildings took about 8 hours each." Thanks for the submission!
Model Builder Buildings and Evan Designs LEDs
What a fantastic layout! The lights really add that extra touch on these Model Builder buildings. Thank you!
Fred created this church model from scratch and used Evan Designs' Brickyard software. Very impressive! This model represents the Hebron Baptist church in Afton, VA. "I just wanted to say thank you for the brick paper program that I purchased from you. It worked great. I used copying paper because it was easier to fold flat and didn't leave really noticeable seams when you fold the paper. The white tacky glue worked best because I could dab a few drops around the edges and it would hold. The white Elmer's glue was too runny, and it would bleed through the paper once it started to dry. The brick paper with the different colors of brick worked great, since the church was actually built in the late 1800s and the new part was added in 1964." Great model, Fred! Thanks for submitting to our gallery.

A long-time customer submitted this amazing layout, which he created using Model Builder and Evan Designs LEDs!
"Shelly, you guys are the best, and it was my pleasure to promote your terrific lighting and software products. And I enjoy using Model Builder. All my builds are first made with it and used as templates. It is especially helpful for sizing windows and doors and will give a precise fit after cutting the build material."
This paper model uses cereal box cardboard,1/8 balsa, and some strip wood, as well as Tichy doors and windows. Model Builder allowed the customer to properly size the siding.
Fyfe Building in Detroit
Peter completed this layout with the tall building in the middle modeled loosely off the Fyfe Building in Detroit.
"It needed about 40 sheets of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock because of all the layering involved. I have a support pillar right in the middle of my layout, and I needed a tall building to hide it. The fact that I wanted it to be removable added to the complexity, and one corner is joined by clips on the inside. The model has no roof, and I wanted it to be tall enough that most people would not see this."
Peter used photoshopped pictures of the building for perspective and straightening, then imported them inot Model Builder for scale. Most of the neighbouring buildings on that street in the first photo were also built using Model Builder and photos.
"Thanks again for the help." Thank you for submitting your hard work, Peter!

I already have the Brickyard package, and I will be ordering your design software soon!"
Brick Harborside structure
"I just completed these two 3D flats using your Brickyard papers. They are modeled on actual buildings from my hometown. I added details but am just blown away by the appearance of your papers. Careful weathering with powdered charcoal really makes them pop, in my opinion." We think these extra details really make the design pop. Thanks for sharing!

Wondering what materials make a difference in building your models? Check out this submission from one of our customers. "I downloaded the free download of the shed and then built it two different ways. The first one was just as the designer did on cardstock. With the second one, I glued the cardstock on black chip board, then glued the walls to the front and back letting the chipboard show. It looks great, just like trim!"
